Pirates Attack Crusie Ship With Rocket Launchers

The last thing you’d expect when you’re on a once in a lifetime, round-the-world cruise is for your ship to come under attack from pirates.

And we’re not talking movie type pirates either. The bandits in question are armed with AK-47 rifles and rocket launchers!!!

That was situation 1200 holidaymakers found themselves in earlier this week when the cruise liner Balmoral came under fire four times from Somali bandits.

The ship’s 1,300 passengers – 95 per cent of them British – were then herded below deck into ’safe havens’ on the Balmoral.

The attack was only averted by the intervention of a U.S. Navy ship which escorted the cruise vessel through the perilous Gulf of Aden.
