North Island is a small retreat in the Seychelles that has been transformed in recent years into an exclusive, private luxury resort for the super rich.

Up until the 1970s, North Island was a plantation for growing fruit and spices, as well as producing guano, fish oil and copra. After the plantation was sold in the 1970s, the island fell into disuse.

In 2003, North Island was bought by Wilderness Safaris, an eco tourism company based in South Africa, and turned into an upmarket holiday destination.

Visitors arrive by helicopter and are treated to five star luxury and treatment in beautiful, secluded surroundings.
