Void LP Player Defies Gravity

Record players, unlike CD players, haven’t exactly changed much over the years. The technology has made them more lightweight and reliable but really, the standard design hasn’t much changed, limited by the size of LP disks which meant that any sort of portable application – the same thing that moved design in CD players forwards – was never going to happen.
That doesn’t mean that the world of Vinyl is dead though, especially in the worlds of dance and indie music where large amounts of music are pressed onto Vinyl, for DJ and collecting purposes respectively.
For those people, the Void LP Player could be a great purchase, combining old technology with new in a brand new, minimalistic design. It also looks awesome.
The player uses magnets to carry the LP into the air while the big red ball contains a needle, amplifier and speaker which power the music by running around the surface of the record. The height of elevation can be managed via the base unit.
We’re pretty certain that the player will sound awful thanks to the size and quality of speakers that small, and we would also be willing to bet that this thing will cost a fair amount of cash so on the paper it doesn’t look the great…but that doesn’t stop us wanting one.
Bear in mind that this is just a concept and it doesn’t actually exist yet, so you won’t be able to find this one in the shops any time soon.
