Sky Player Now Available On Xbox 360

Xbox 360 users will now be able to watch live Sky TV and catch up on past shows through their games console.
A deal between the two companies means that Sky Player, Sky’s online TV service, is now available through the Xbox Live. It will give Xbox 360 owners access to hundreds of hours of programming from the likes of Sky Sports, Sky Movies and MTV.
Sky Player will be available free to Xbox Live Gold members who already subscribe to Sky TV at home. They will be able to access on-demand content through their console from all the channels that form part of their domestic viewing package. Customers with Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband Unlimited will also be able to stream live channels to their Xbox 360 at no extra cost.
For those Xbox 360 users who do not already subscribe to Sky, the partnership means they will be able to access Sky Player content via the internet without the need for a satellite dish and set-top box. These users will still need an Xbox Live Gold membership, and will also have to pay for a monthly subscription to Sky Player, which starts from £15 per month for the Entertainment Pack, which includes access to channels such as the Disney Channel, Sky Sports News and MTV One.
Microsoft hopes the deal with Sky will cement its place at the centre of the home entertainment hub. The company has sought to bring a more casual and social gaming experience to the Xbox 360 console through initiatives such as an overhaul of its Xbox Live online gaming portal and the forthcoming integration of Twitter and Facebook streams in to the gaming experience.
