The luxury phone maker Vertu’s first flip model is a stunner. The £4,500 Ayxta mobile’s major selling point, aside from the exquisite design, is City Brief – a location-aware mobile concierge application.

As soon as you land in Moscow or Tokyo, your phone will deliver personalised news headlines, listings, reviews, weather forecasts and restaurant recommendations.

With such a hefty price tag it would need to be offering a lot more than that to convince me to part with over 4,000 pictures of The Queen.
