Virgin Mobile is pulling out all the stops to win over cash-strapped consumers, launching a range of £20 per month tariffs that give users unlimited texts and 400 free minutes of calls.

That contract also entitles users to six months free instant-messaging on their phone, plus unlimited web surfing for an extra 30p per day.

Although there’s a range of handsets on offer, we recommend the Samsung Classico phone, a solid all-round slider with some great high-end features.
