Marantz BD8002 Blu-Ray DVD Player

Marantz’s first high-definition player makes up for its bulk with some impressive features.
It can upscale standard-definition DVDs to 1080p and uses the latest cutting-edge HDMI inputs and superb sound quality.
The downside is its lack of support for Blu-ray 2.0 profiles, which means you won’t be able to use forthcoming Blu-ray features, such as BD Live, the interactive content element of Blu-ray DVDs.
Frames per second: 24.
Audio decoding: Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master.
Audio file support: Blu-ray, DVD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA, DivX, Jpeg, plus SD card slot.
Price: £1,800 (marantz.com).
