The days are getting shorter, the air a bit brisker – that means it’s almost time to eat turkeys!
1. Not content with the barrage of Droid Does ads, Verizon has stepped up the smack talk with a slew of ads touting Verizon’s superior 3G coverage verse AT&T. With three visually effective (and from anecdotes, true) attacks on AT&T’s 3G coverage, Verizon blasts the iPhone and AT&T in one fell swoop. Them must be fightin’ words, cause AT&T responded by filing a lawsuit for misrepresentation. Verizon takes another swing at AT&T, puts iPhone on the Island of Misfit Toys
2. For those who prefer to buck the mainstream by rocking a Zune HD over an iPod, prepare for some awesomeness: a new firmware update for the player enables 3D games, which are said to be visually on par, if not better, than PSP games. Powered by nVidia’s powerful Tegra chip, the Zune now can run with the best of them – and best of all, all the inital games are free! Zune HD Marketplace now loaded with free 3D games
3. Been feeling left out since Verizon launched the Droid last Friday featuring Google Maps with Navigation? Fret not, as it looks like a little tweaking can bring that same functionality to older Android Devices like the G1 and the myTouch 3G: Google Navigation hacked onto T-Mobile G1
4. The sweet software that makes it that much easier to waste time watching online TV is coming to a box near you. Originally purposed for laptops or connected HDTVs, the news means you’ll soon be able to buy a stand-alone box to use Boxee with your TV – freeing up your laptop for more important uses, like checking fantasy scores during Monday Night Football. a Boxee Box is coming!
5. For all the awesome dance parties, insane basketball shots, crazy personal life bloggers, and all-you-can-digest-but-never-actually-need videos, one thing has been lacking – 1080P high-def. Til now, that is: 1080P HD Is Coming to YouTube
