COD: Modern Warfare 2 – Fastest Selling Game Ever

First-day sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been estimated at a record breaking $500 million.

It’s been one of the years most anticipated games with many COD fans hitting stores at midnight to grab their copy.

The previous record was set by Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008 when it raked in $300 million in the first 24hrs.

The game is expected to sell more than 3 million copies in the UK alone, with the online retailers Amazon and Play.com both reporting record sales.

For anyone looking for a cheap copy of COD then Sainsbury’s will be selling Modern Warfare 2 for just £26, while main Tesco will be offering the game at £25 if bought with another title, or £39.70 on its own. Asda, meanwhile, will also be selling the game at a cut-price £32.

I’m unsure if these prices are while stocks last or they will continue for the foreseeable future. Best bet is to get in there quick while the special offers are available.
