Kobe Leads Lakers To Victory

Los Angeles Lakers drew first blood in the NBA finals with a 100-75 victory over Orlando Magic in LA on Thursday.
Star player Kobe Bryant buried the Magic with an 18-point spree in the third quarter, finishing with 40 points with nine rebounds and eight assists in a virtuoso performance.
“I was taking what they gave me. They want to back off and give me a shot, I am happy to take it,” Bryant said. “We wanted to keep our energy up make sure we stayed the aggressor.”
Pau Gasol had 16 points and Lamar Odom 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers, who are trying to make amends for losing in last year’s final to the Boston Celtics.
The Magic swept both regular-season meetings between the clubs but enter the finals as the underdog in their first appearance since 1995.
