International Round-up: World Cup Qualifiers

Here’s a quick round up of all the action and scores from the World Cup Qualifiers played last night.
England 3-0 Belarus
Peter Crouch scores twice as England’s squad players stake their claims in a 3-0 win over Belarus in their final World Cup qualifying Group 6 match at Wembley. Shaun Wright-Phillips also scores as David Beckham and James Milner impress for the already-qualified England.
Brazil 0-0 Venezuela
Brazil draw 0-0 at home to Venezuela, ending their guests’ hopes of qualifying for the World Cup in South Africa. Brazil win the CONMEBOL qualifying section while Venezuela finish sixth.
Germany 1-1 Finland
Lukas Podolski scores a last-minute equaliser as Germany draw 1-1 at home to Finland in a World Cup qualifying Group 4 dead rubber in Hamburg. Jonathan Johansson put the visitors ahead on 11 minutes.
Chile 1-0 Ecuador
Ecuador fail to qualify for the World Cup after a 1-0 defeat at Chile, who were already confirmed for the finals. Humberto Suazo scored on 53 minutes, while Ecuador finished the game with 10 men after Segundo Castillo was sent off.
Uruguay 0-1 Argentina
A late goal by substitute Mario Bolatti gives Argentina a 1-0 win at Uruguay to put Diego Maradona’s struggling side into the World Cup finals in South Africa.
France 3-1 Austria
France warm up for their World Cup play-off by beating Austria 3-1 in their final Group 7 qualifier at Stade de France.
Denmark 0-1 Hungary
Group 1 winners Denmark lose for the first time in this World Cup qualifying campaign, going down 1-0 at home to Hungary. Eliminated Hungary grab the only goal in the 35th minute when midfielder Akos Buzsaky beat goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen with a low shot.
Sweden 4-1 Albania
Sweden thrash Albania 4-1 in Stockholm but missed out on a 2010 World Cup play-off place as Portugal beat Malta 4-0 to finish second in Group 1.
Portugal 4-0 Malta
Portugal make light of the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo to seal a place in the play-offs by thrashing Malta 4-0 in Guimares.
Poland 0-1 Slovakia
Slovakia reach the World Cup finals for the first time after grinding out a nervous 1-0 victory in Poland in Chorzow.
Czech Republic 0-0 Northern Ireland
Czech Republic’s World Cup qualifying campaign ends in disappointment after a 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland.
Estonia 2-0 Belgium
New coach Dick Advocaat watches his Belgium team suffer a surprise 2-0 defeat by Estonia in a meaningless World Cup qualifier in Tallinn.
San Marino 0-3 Slovenia
Slovenia go through to next month’s World Cup playoffs after winning 3-0 at San Marino.
Latvia 3-2 Moldova
Two goals by Andrejs Rubins and one from Kristaps Grebis give Latvia a token 3-2 win over Moldova in Group 2 in Riga.
Lithuania 2-1 Serbia
Two penalties gave Lithuania a 2-1 win over group winners Serbia in Marijampole.
Romania 3-1 Faroes
Romania end a disappointing 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-1 win against the Faroe Islands in Bucharest.
Bulgaria 6-2 Georgia
A first-half hat-trick from striker Dimitar Berbatov helps Bulgaria end their World Cup Group 8 qualifying campaign with an emphatic 6-2 win over 10-man Georgia in Sofia.
Republic of Ireland 0-0 Montenegro
Republic of Ireland finish their Group 8 qualification campaign unbeaten but end it in disappointing fashion as they are held 0-0 by Montenegro at Croke Park.
Cyprus 2-3 Italy
Alberto Gilardino scores a hat-trick to steer champions Italy to a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Cyprus in their final World Cup Group 8 qualifier in Parma.
Greece 2-1 Luxembourg
Greece secure a place in the World Cup play-offs by claiming a 2-1 victory over 10-man Luxembourg in Athens.
Bosnia 2-5 Spain
Alvaro Negredo scores twice as European champions Spain cruise to a 5-2 victory in Bosnia to make it 10 wins out of 10 in World Cup Group 5 qualifying.
Turkey 2-0 Armenia
Goals from Halil Altintop and Servet Cetin earn Turkey a 2-0 victory against Armenia in Bursa, small consolation after they fail to qualify for next years finals.
Liechtenstein 0-2 Wales
Wales end a disappointing 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein in Vaduz. Midfielder David Vaughan stretches to convert Gareth Bales low left-wing cross on 16 minutes for his first international goal and Aaron Ramsey scores a classy free-kick 10 minutes from time.
Switzerland 0-0 Israel
Switzerland book their place in next year’s World Cup finals as they earn a 0-0 draw at home to Israel in Basel to finish top of qualifying Group 2.
Azerbaijan 1-1 Russia
Andrei Arshavin is on target as Russia are held to a 1-1 draw by Azerbaijan in their final World Cup qualifier in Baku.
Andorra 0-6 Ukraine
Ukraine secure a World Cup play-off place with a 6-0 Group 6 win at Andorra. Andriy Shevchenko, Oleg Gusev, Yaroslav Rakitsky, Yevgen Seleznov, Andriy Yarmolenko and an Ildefons Lima own-goal ensure Ukraine and not Croatia enter a two-legged play-off for the finals in South Africa.
Kazakhstan 1-2 Croatia
An injury-time winner from Niko Kranjcar is not enough to seal a play-off place for Croatia as they win 2-1 at Kazakhstan. Ognjen Vukojevic put the visitors ahead on 10 minutes but Sergey Khizhnichenko (26) equalised in a match that meant little due to Ukraine’s win at Andorra.
