Glasgow businessman Douglas Park and South African financier Dave King are set to table a joint bid of £40m for struggling SPL champions Rangers.

The Ibrox club have debts of around £30m with an HBOS representative now on the board and the bank are now allegedly running the club.

The big fear is that star players such as Madjid Bougherra, Steven Davis and Pedro Mendes will all be sold in the January transfer window as the bank see’s them as saleable assets that will lower the clubs debt burden.

However, majority shareholder David Murray has stated that he will only sell his stake to the the people he feels are right for the club.
