Chelsea and Manchester United maintained their 100 per cent record in the group phase as AC Milan beat Real Madrid in a thriller.

Group A

Bordeaux 2 – Bayern Munich 1

Bordeaux came back from behind to beat nine-man Bayern Munich 2-1 that seen defender Marc Planus score a 41st minute winner in what proved a physical encounter at the Chaban Delmas which heralded six bookings and two red cards.

Juventus 1 – Maccabi Haifa 0

Juventus got back to winning ways as they hung on for a 1-0 victory at home to 10-man Maccabi Haifa.

Group B

CSKA Moscow 0 – Man Utd 1

Valencia

Manchester United equaled a Champions League record as Antonio Valencia’s late goal secured a 1-0 victory away to CSKA Moscow.

Wolfsburg 0 – Besiktas 0

Grafite

Wolfsburg finished the other match in Group B with 10 men as Grafite was sent off in the German champions’ frustrating 0-0 draw at home with Besiktas.

Group C

FC Zurich 0 – Marseille 1

Gabriel Heinze

Gabriel Heinze’s superb volley saw Marseille deservedly beat FC Zurich in Switzerland to keep their Champions League dreams very much alive.

Real Madrid 2 – AC Milan 3

Milan celebrate in Madrid

Milan ended Real Madrid’s 100 per cent record in Group C after a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Alexandre Pato scoring twice for AC Milan.

Group D

Chelsea 4 – Atletico Madrid 0

Kalou

Carlo Ancelotti saw his Chelsea side recover from a weekend defeat in the Premier League in devastating style after a 4-0 thrashing of Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge.

FC Porto 2 – Apoel Nicosia 1

Hulk

Porto boosted their prospects of qualifying for the knock-out phase after a 2-1 home win over Apoel Nicosia.

The Portuguese side dominated the contest for long periods, but were given a shock when Alvaro Pereira’s own goal gave Apoel the lead midway through the first half.

However, Hulk equalised on 33 minutes and then converted a penalty early in the second half to leave Porto in a clear second behind Chelsea in Group D
