Bayern Want Wenger To Replace Klinsmann

Arsene Wenger

Bayern Munich are trying to prise Arsene Wenger from Arsenal.

Bayern are prepared to offer a £5million-a-year deal with a licence to recruit French and African players in the same manner he has with Arsenal.

That will also be backed with the cash to bankroll lucrative contracts and big-name signings.

Wenger is renowned for his loyalty, having spurned advances from Real Madrid and Barcelona. He is still contracted to Arsenal until 2011 and has hinted recently that he would be prepared to extend that deal.

Bayern coach Jurgen Klinsmann was already considered to be on borrowed time ahead of Wednesday’s 4-0 first leg quarter-final defeat against Barcelona, after which Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: ‘It was an absolute disaster. We have to analyse things in private and make a rational decision.’

I just can’t see the happening. Wenger will remain at Arsenal while Klinsmann WILL be looking for a new job.
