Barca Put Six Past Real In Bernabeu

After watching the El Classico last night I’m just hoping Barcelona are crowned European Champions this year, for a long time never has a team been so deserving.
Their performance in the Bernabeu was simply breathtaking to watch. They produced a dazzling display of attacking football to thrash arch-rivals Real Madrid 6-2 and all but secure the Primera Liga title.
Two goals apiece from Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry with defenders Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique also on target left Real with their heads down, praying for the full-time whistle.
A mixture of inspired play and comical defending undermined Juande Ramos’ men who had taken the lead as Gonzalo Higuain headed home after 14 minutes.
After going behind 4-2 Real switched tactics and formation to try and take something from the match but all that done was leave even more space for the Barca forwards, who between them have scored 69 league goals this season.
The final humiliation saw Samuel Eto’o charge down the right to cross for Pique who twisted cleverly to beat Casillas for the sixth and his first ever La Liga goal.
It was Barcelona’s 100th league goal of the season which has brought them 27 wins from 34 matches.
It also takes their league points tally to 85, with four games still left to play. This equals the record set by Bernd Schuster’s Real Madrid team last season.
