Barca Blast Four Past Bayern

As I sat down to watch this match I wasn’t prepared for what was about to happen. I’m all to aware of the attacking power the Spanish giants Barcelona have at their disposal in the form of Messi, Eto’o and Henry but Bayern were a shadow of the side that scored a record 12 times against Sporting in the previous round.

The match is best described as ‘the men against the boys’.

Two first-half goals from Lionel Messi plus one each from Samuel Eto’o and Thierry Henry put Barcelona within touching distance of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the third time in four seasons.

Bayern were without several key players and the men drafted in to fill their boots were just not up to the job. Even if some of them return for the 2nd leg next week I think scoring five and keeping a clean sheet is just too big a mountain for the Germans to climb.
