14yr old Emily Dickson is thought to have broken an FA record of scoring twice in one match, on a full size pitch from inside her own 6 yard box.

The amazing feat was accomplished just after the Hoddesdon Owls had let in a goal, in a really bad mood Emily took a kick at the ball, and whacked it over 100m where it bounced over the opposition keeper scoring a goal, Emily and the rest of the team couldn’t believe it, so when another chance arose her manager said “double or quits” to her indicating to take another shot which she again scored putting her into the record books.

Emily from Broxbourne, Herts said “I’d never scored a goal from my goal before. So it was totally brilliant to get two in one match.”

The two goals Goalkeeper Emily scored helped her team to a 3-2 victory over opposition Stevenage Vixens. David Barber the FA’s official historian believes that Emily could be the first ever keeper to achieve the feat, adding that only a handful of goalkeepers have ever scored from their own area let alone score twice, Goalies such as Pat Jennings, Peter Shilton, Steve Sherwood and Steve Ogrizovic.

The Guinness book of records lists Jose Luis Chilavert as scoring three goals in one game on November 28th 1999
