Toni Braxton Impersonator Jailed

A woman who reportedly pretended to be Toni Braxton at a concert in South America has been jailed in Suriname for impersonating the Grammy Award winner.

Trina Johnson-Finn is denying that she allowed up to 3,000 people to believe she was Braxton at a concert two months ago, many of whom paid up to $53 per ticket.

When Johnson hit a bum note at the show, the audience realised they had been duped and pelted the stage with trash. Johnson was rushed from the stage.

However, the singer’s husband Raymond Finn claims that Johnson was conned by a local promoter who was responsible for duping the crowd, and that Johnson believed she was appearing as a Toni Braxton tribute artist.

The promoter, Angel Ventura, was tracked down and arrested on Monday May 4, reports the Associated Press.

The case will go to court on May 26.
