Arlene Phillips one of the regular judges on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing has recently been axed from the show and it was reported today that she will be replaced by none other than past contestant and 2007 winner Alesha Dixon. Perhaps this is a bid from the BBC to attract younger viewers or something but I’ve never been a huge fan of Alesha and have to admit I feel a bit sorry for Arlene being pushed out of the show.

Despite her recent TV series Britannia High being considered a flop Arlene was a major part of Strictly and it won’t quite be the same without her. Ms Dixon has some mighty big shoes to fill, so hopefully she will be able to pull it off!

Alongside Alesha and the other regular judges we will see renowned ballet dancer Darcey Bussell take on a brief guest judging spot, whether there will be any other guest judges still remains to be seen but hopefully we’ll at least see a few big names performing on the show as well as competing for the winners title this time round.
