But one man, and one man alone – David Beckham – has managed to pull off the look.

The result will have millions of female hearts fluttering as the football hero shows off his armfuls of tattoos in the style of his TV hero Michael Scofield, of the drama series Prison Break.

And let’s face it, with the honed body of a boxer and the face of an angel, Becks is not even going to attract complaints about the fact that he is wearing a flat cap for his workout.
