Photo Special: Remembering Woodstock

This pictorial looks back at the world famous, and possibly world changing, Woodstock Festival that took place 40 years ago.
The event was billed as “An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music”. It took place at Max Yasgur’s 600 acre dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969.
Thirty-two acts performed over the course of the four days (full list below) and this gallery captures several performances plus a selection of shots taken during the festival of the peace loving hippie crowd and surrounding area.
