2 Die After Stage Collapse On Madonna Tour

Madonna broke down in tears on stage last night in Italy as she paid tribute to the two crew members who died as they prepared stage rigging for her gig at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille.
At her concert at the Fruili Stadium, in Udine, northern Italy, Madonna told the audience that she was ‘devastated’.
She added: ‘I ask you for a moment to stop and think of the people who have lost their lives, we need to appreciate life, the people we love and our families.’
Brit Charles Prow, 32, and Frenchman Charles Criscenzo, 53, were killed after rigging collapsed as they prepared the stage set for an upcoming gig.

At least eight others were injured in the collapse, including an American who is critical, after being hit by lighting due to be suspended above the stage
Four had multiple injuries, including fractures, and three were lightly injured by falling rubble. Some 39 others were suffering from shock and needed treatment for trauma.

Police have already launched a criminal inquiry into the accident.
