Noel Gallagher Announces Oasis Split

Noel Gallagher quit Oasis last night via the bands official website.
He said: ‘It is with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.
‘Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.’
The statement came hours after the band announced the cancellation of their appearance at Rock en Seine festival in Paris because of ‘an altercation within the band’.
Earlier this month Liam, 36, revealed that relations with his brother were so bad they no longer spoke, traveled separately on tour and only saw each other on stage.
‘He doesn’t like me and I don’t like him. That’s it,’ Liam said.
The band’s debut album Definitely Maybe propelled them to fame in 1994. Since then, they have sold 50 million records worldwide, released eight number one singles in the UK and collected five Brit awards.
Among the band’s most popular singles were the hits Don’t Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall.
djmick says: Give it five years and we’ll be hearing all about the big reunion. For once I’m hoping I’m wrong as Oasis bored the crap out of me.
