Keisha Back In Studio Recording Solo Material

Ex-Sugababe Keisha Buchanan has revealed she’s begun work on solo material.

The 24-year-old was ousted last month from the girl band she helped form as a teenager, to be replaced by Jade Ewen. Earlier this week, she confirmed via her Twitter feed that she’s “back in the studio” and it “feels great!”

Buchanan is still under contract to Island Records, and is fielding numerous high-profile offers from potential collaborators, including R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo. US chart-topper Jay Sean has also praised her “amazing” voice after the pair recorded together earlier this year.

“We got in the studio and did a track called ‘Fire Away’, which is a beautiful song. Keisha is a great songwriter and we both wrote it together,” the Ride It hitmaker said.
