Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has achieved double chart success with her debut solo single and album both reaching number one.

Fight For This Love‘ stayed on at number one for a second week whilst the album ‘3 Words’ entered the chart in the top spot, beating ‘This Is It’, the new Michael Jackson release.

According to the Official Charts Company this makes Cheryl the third female star to achieve dual success in 2009 following Lily Allen and Lady GaGa. Just twelve women have achieved the feat in the past including Madonna and Celine Dion.

Other high entires on the singles chart the singles included Westlife picking up the highest new entry at number two with Jay Sean’s ‘Down’ came in at number three.
