Beyonce Confirmed For MTV Awards

Organisers of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards have confirmed Beyonce will perform at the show which takes place next month in New York.

The 27-year-old is up for nine awards at the ceremony – including video of the year – and will perform her latest hit single Sweet Dreams.

Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink and Muse have also been lined up to perform.

Last year’s host, comedian Russell Brand, is back for a second time.
