Photo Special: 2009 Glastonbury Festival

The picture above was the scene earlier today of the camp site at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival. About 150,000 party-goers pack acres of Somerset fields ready for the annual music “weekend”.
With heavy rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon, it’s expected that the 900-acre site will turn into a huge mudbath.
Glastonbury and mud go hand in hand and I’m sure many of the expected 175,000 audience would leave feeling slightly disappointed if it stayed dry.
Even the local airport is prepared for mud and has installed a ‘wellie-washer’ so international visitors to the festival can hose off their muddy feet before flying home.
As you’ll see in the pictures below, the campers come well prepared for a muddy weekend, with many arriving yesterday to ensure a good spot on the camp site.
