Public Anger At British MPs Expenses

House of Parliament and Big Ben

The row over MPs’ expenses has completely engulfed the British Parliament and public anger boiled over yesterday as senior MPs were booed and jeered on the BBC’s flagship current affairs programme Question Time.

The House Of Commons has been dubbed the House Of Ill Repute after the expenses scandal deepened with revelations that Members of Parliament have been claiming money for mortgages they didn’t have, moats to be cleaned and thousands of pounds worth of luxury items. And that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface.

Heads will roll and jobs will be lost. Prime Minister Gordon Brown, in my opinion, has just cost himself his position for his handling of the whole affair, which has been slow and indecisive.
