indian police brutality

A report published this week by Human Rights Watch documented police abuses in India that included arbitrary arrests, torture and cold blooded killings.

India allocates only 1 officer per 1,037 citizens, compared with an average of 1 per 333 worldwide, putting the officers under crippling pressure from their superiors to solve crimes.

The images shown here were captured by an eyewitness to a cold blooded murder carried out in broad daylight by police officers on the streets of India.

The official version is of the incident states the young man was a member of a separatist terror group who had resisted arrest and was shot.

Other accounts of the shooting say the officers crowded around him to hide from the eyes of passers-by and killed with terrifying composure. They then carried the body to a nearby police car.

From what the photos reveal there seems more truth to the eyewitness version of events.

The pictures are seemed to be taken from the North-East province of Manipur of India, where such incidences occurred sporadically during the last half decade. The police dresses are surely of Indian colour -’Khaki clothes’. Separatist activities prevailed in the province, as far as the news flashes. The writings in the hoarding/signboards are also Manipuri-like.
