Miss Singapore Quits Over Credit Card Fraud

Gorgeous Miss Singapore World, Ris Low, has given up her crown – after it emerged that she had stolen credit cards to go on a shopping spree for lingerie.

The Straits Times said the 19-year-old resigned Tuesday following public pressure for her to be stripped of her 2009 title.

Local media had reported she stole seven credit cards last year while working at a medical clinic, buying goods worth about S$8,000 ($5,662) including lingerie, gold anklets and mobile phones.

Low’s replacement for Miss World has not yet been chosen, the newspaper said.
