Celebrate St Patricks Day Like The irish – With A Riot

It seems the world goes mad when it comes to celebrating St Patrick’s Day – so why not celebrate it like a true Irishman, with a riot?

Okay, the headline was tongue in cheek – I know the majority of Irish people are peaceful citizens but as many around the world celebrate St Patrick and their Irish heritage in the coming days the streets of Ireland have again been turned into battlegrounds.

In the past week a new upsurge in political and religious violence has resulted in the deaths of soldiers and policemen and last night matters only grew worse as mobs began rioting after arrests were made in connection with the murders.

I bet those filling themselves up on Guinness and Whiskey around the world boasting of their Irish roots won’t even give the true picture of their beloved Ireland a second thought – if they ever gave it a first one.
